I discovered a very useful site the other day while buying car insurance. In a flurry of wishful thinking that turned out to be for naught I bought car insurance. I was thinking I might need proof on insurance to register a used car we were looking at but the deal fell through in the end, oh well. Anyway, once I signed up for insurance they asked if I wanted the papers faxed over. I don’t have a fax machine so my heart sank thinking I would have to wait for the documentation to arrive by mail - delaying my car purchase for a week or more! Thank goodness for K7.net, this seemingly sketchy, low-fi site came to the rescue with its free fax-to-email service. All you have to do is sign up with your name and email address and they’ll assign you a phone number to be used for voicemail and fax. If someone sends you a fax or leaves a voice message the document or sound file is automagically sent to your email address. I received my insurance documents within a couple of minutes of the insurance agent sending them, wow. You should note that K7 only provides Seattle-based phone numbers and your account will be deleted if it’s not used for 30 days (but you can always sign up for a new one).
