Looking for Work

I’ve (finally) begun my job hunt in preparation for our triumphant return to Canada!  I’m looking for something full-time/permanent, preferably in Toronto or Ottawa.  Please email me if you want to hire me or hear of anything that might interest me.  I’ll be ready to start work August 1, 2008 – but that’s flexible if something good comes along.  What interests me most would be something that combines technology with urban sustainability, public transportation, environmental issues, food security and/or the non-profit sector.

The Very Best Bread I’ve Ever Made

IMG_6304.JPG

I had a chance to do some baking over the holidays and finally had a chance to try out the famous NY Times No-Knead Recipe that made the rounds a couple of years ago.  I have to say it’s the easiest bread recipe I’ve ever tried and it produces this wonderfully crusty, spongy, soft, yummy bread.  Click through for the recipe and try it for yourself but basically you combine the ingredients, let them sit for 18 hours and bake it off in a pot with the lid on.  The high humidity in the pot helps create the crust and removing the lid for the second half of baking lets it get nice and golden brown.  If baking bread has always intimidated you, this no-fail recipe is for you.

To be fair a lot of this is scanning for items to list on GreenDeals Daily.
